Un nuovo prestigioso evento vedrà protagonista Monica Catto, la pittrice Biellese di adozione Desiana, presenterà per la prima volta al pubblico “Écoute Chérie” un dipinto olio su tela cm. 60×70 della nuova serie figurativa “My secret garden”.
In questo dipinto l’artista racconta: “catturo il gioco di luce e ombra con il mio pennello. Strato dopo strato, il tempo si accumula e i sentimenti e l’esperienza di ogni momento sono come colpi di vernice”.
Sabato 2 marzo 2024, alle ore 18.00, verrà presentato il secondo appuntamento del progetto MESTRE LAB presso lo spazio espositivo dell’Ex Polveriera Francese di Forte Marghera (via Forte Marghera 30, Mestre).
Si tratta di una mostra collettiva che esporrà 30 artisti.
MESTRE LAB è un progetto artistico espositivo nato dalla collaborazione tra il CIRCOLO VENETO APS e DOMUS LAB per promuovere la realtà culturale locale, sviluppare nuove forme di socialità e fornire, attraverso l’arte, nuovi spunti alla cittadinanza dell’area veneziana di terraferma.
Per favorire dunque, nuovi scambi sociali e offrire agli abitanti della terraferma veneziana nuove opportunità culturali, il progetto vuole creare, all’interno della già ricca offerta culturale mestrina istituzionale, un circuito artistico indipendente, mettendo in rete i molti artisti attivi a Mestre e unendo sinergicamente le attività culturali de IL CIRCOLO VENETO (Promotore del Premio Mestre di Pittura) e di DOMUS LAB (promotore del progetto “Atelier aperti in terraferma” progetto a cura di Gaetano Salerno, Vito Campanelli e Roberto
Cannata) per offrire nuove occasioni espositive negli spazi di Forte Marghera.
Il progetto si prefigge, inoltre, di monitorare un’area di riferimento vasta e diffusa come quella della terraferma veneziana allo scopo di definire, attraverso una serie di mostre collettive di arti visive (pittura, scultura, video, installazioni) proposte con cadenza ciclica, un nuovo distretto dell’arte contemporanea. Il progetto MESTRE LAB è stato ufficialmente presentato al pubblico e alla stampa mercoledì 31 gennaio 2024 presso il Municipio di Mestre alla presenza dell’Assessore alla Promozione del Territorio Paola Mar, della
Consigliera Comunale Deborah Onisto, del Presidente del Circolo Veneto Cesare Campa, del Direttore della Fondazione Forte Marghera Stefano Mondini e dello storico dell’arte e critico d’arte Gaetano Salerno.

A new prestigious event will see the protagonist Monica Catto, the Biellese painter of Desiana adoption, who will present to the public for the first time “Écoute Chérie”, an oil painting on canvas cm. 60×70 from the new figurative series “My secret garden”.
In this painting the artist says: “I capture the play of light and shadow with my brush. Layer after layer, time accumulates and the feelings and experience of each moment are like strokes of paint.”
On Saturday 2 March 2024, at 6.00 pm, the second appointment of the MESTRE LAB project will be presented at the exhibition space of the Ex Polveriera Francese in Forte Marghera (via Forte Marghera 30, Mestre).
This is a collective exhibition that will see 30 artists on display.
MESTRE LAB is an artistic exhibition project born from the collaboration between the CIRCOLO VENETO APS and DOMUS LAB to promote the local cultural reality, develop new forms of sociality and provide, through art, new ideas to the citizens of the Venetian mainland area.
To therefore encourage new social exchanges and offer the inhabitants of the Venetian mainland new cultural opportunities, the project aims to create, within the already rich institutional cultural offer of Mestre,
an independent artistic circuit, networking the many artists active in Mestre and uniting synergistically the cultural activities of IL CIRCOLO VENETO (Promoter of the Mestre Painting Award) and DOMUS LAB (promoter of the “Open ateliers on the mainland” project curated by Gaetano Salerno, Vito Campanelli and Roberto Cannata) to offer new exhibition opportunities in the spaces of Forte Marghera.
The project also aims to monitor a vast and widespread reference area such as that of the Venetian mainland with the aim of defining, through a series of collective exhibitions of visual arts (painting, sculpture, videos, installations) proposed on a cyclical basis, a new contemporary art district.
The MESTRE LAB project was officially presented to the public and the press on Wednesday 31 January 2024 at the Mestre Town Hall in the presence of the Councilor for Territorial Promotion Paola Mar, the City Councilor Deborah Onisto, the President of the Circolo Veneto Cesare Campa, the Director of the Forte Marghera Foundation Stefano Mondini and of the art historian and art critic Gaetano Salerno.
The MESTRE LAB project is included in the circuit of events LE CITTA’ IN FESTA PROMOTED BY THE CITY OF VENICE.
EXHIBITION OPENING: SATURDAY 2 MARCH – SUNDAY 17 MARCH 2024.
The exhibition can be visited on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3pm to 7.30pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7.30pm
