L’artista desiana Monica Catto è la vincitrice del concorso online dedicato alla realizzazione del tradizionale drappo, trofeo della contrada che si aggiudicherà la vittoria della 32esima edizione della storica manifestazione del Palio degli zoccoli di Desio si correrà il 5 giungo prossimo in Piazza Conciliazione.
“Ho cercato di rappresentare semplificando il più possibile il risultato della Battaglia di Desio in un elaborato identificativo come in uno stemma araldico, ho realizzato un disegno grafico che contiene tutte le informazioni essenziali.
Il disegno è stato eseguito secondo le regole araldiche, chiunque conosca tali regole è in grado di ricostruire l’esatta descrizione semplicemente guardando il disegno, e viceversa.
Lo stemma dei Visconti simbolicamente stringe in una morsa lo stemma dei Della Torre. La Torre presenta delle crepe ed uno sgretolamento anche delle lance ai lati che si frantumano sotto il dominio dei Visconti. Il rosso e il bianco dello sfondo rappresentano i colori dello stemma della città di Desio .
L’opera è stata realizzata su tela dimensioni cm. 50×60 con colori acrilici.”

Desian artist Monica Catto is the winner of the online competition dedicated to the creation of the traditional drape, the trophy of the district that will win the 32nd edition of the historic event of the Palio degli zoccoli di Desio will be held next June 5 in Piazza Conciliazione.
“I tried to represent by simplifying as much as possible the result of the Battle of Desio in an elaborate identification as in a heraldic coat of arms, I created a graphic design that contains all the essential information.
The design was made according to the heraldic rules, anyone who knows these rules is able to reconstruct the exact description simply by looking at the design, and vice versa.
The Visconti coat of arms symbolically holds the Della Torre coat of arms in a vise. The Tower has cracks and a crumbling of the spears on the sides that shatter under the dominion of the Visconti. The red and white of the background represent the colors of the coat of arms of the city of Desio.
The work was made on canvas size cm. 50×60 with acrylic colors. “
