History
Francesca Calzolari is a painter and set designer from Turin, born in 1999.
She has participated in numerous collective exhibitions in Italy in cities such as Naples, Rome, Lecce and Venice and in an international collective exhibition in London. In November 2023 she took part in Paratissima in the Unpredictable section in Turin, while in March 2024 she participated in the YouNique Fine Art & Craft Fair at Villa Ciani in Lugano.
Painting has always been a great characteristic feature. Oil on canvas, a favorite genre, is the main communication tool. The themes developed are the self-portrait, the crystal glass and the leather armchair.
Set design is another major branch of work, started a few years ago with important work successes and collaborations. Assistant set designer on the short film Ratavoloira, winning work at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival as Best Fantasy Short of the Year, Annual Awards January 2023 and as Best Action Film at the New York International Film Awards, May 2022.
Art director, set designer and artist for Disney Italia. Creation and management of the project for the room relating to Princess Snow White on the occasion of the exhibition WE PRINCESSES ALWAYS CELEBRATION, inaugurated on 22 September 2022 in Milan at the WOW Museo del Fumetto.
Collaboration with T3kne, a Roman company whose aim is the organization of events and film promotion. Set designer and location manager for the promotional video of The King’s Man: Origins for Disney and set designer for Top Gun – Maveric for Paramount.
Live painter and event organizer in collaboration with the saxophonist Felix Nascimento, aka Felix Sax, with the Sax e Pennello project; which provides synergy between art and music, total involvement for the spectator. Inaugurated in 2021, this year the FELIX SAX JAZZ NIGHT & CO show format has reached its second edition.
Finally, she carries out the project of personalized illustrated books, where the story can be written together, or directly by the customer, with the aim of creating an ad hoc fairy tale for the person to whom it will be dedicated. The illustrations will be done in watercolor and marker, so as to create a new, dynamic image, with a light texture left by the paper.
