History
Paolo Spertino – I am self-taught, the only art lessons I learned by attending the middle school. The artistic vein was already particularly bright, I loved to try my hand with tempera and ink colors.
I paint to “detach my brain” from everyday life, I paint because it makes me feel good about myself and to translate my emotions into color and stroke.
My artistic research led me to experiment with various techniques, various ways of imprinting color on the canvas. Almost by chance I started to outline my brush strokes with markers, and the result satisfied me.
My main reference artist is Carlo Sismonda, a little known but extraordinary painter with his landscapes and still lifes. I was impressed with his palette and made it mine.
My favorite colors are purple and fuchsia.
In January 2021 my first book was published by PAV edizioni, entitled Sogni, poesie & c.
